However ranking is google search result is not so easy these days. As google search algorithm continuously undergoes changes it becomes more difficult to rank into search results.

Google being world’s #1 search engine always wants its deliver its users most relevant results. Thus with regular updates and changes google always aim towards improving search experience for its users.

This is why today google is ruling among all search engines over the world. It alone drives around 92% of total search traffic in the world.

As we focus this article for beginners the steps in my guideline are explained in simpler manner so that every beginner could understand. Lets study important SEO steps in detail.

This is the first step where you need to gather necessary requirements from your clients if you are about to implement SEO for your clients. Understand the niche what client belongs to and what customer expects through SEO.

Have complete idea of client niche and business profile. This will help you to analyse what are your competitors and how you have to begin with to rank your website against these competitors.

Competitor Analysis

Once you have complete overview of client requirements next step comes is analyzing competitors. Here you will have to have complete overview of you competitors with respect to what keywords they are ranking for, what is domain authority of ranked competitors.

Generally its difficult to rank against higher DA site. So in such cases you have to focus on long tail keywords. This is the best way to get your website rank faster.

Competitor analysis will help you to decide on what strategy to follow while implementation of SEO.

Keyword Research

In this step we research for those keywords that are higher in volume and have low competition.

But where to find this?

There are plenty tools available online for keyword research. I generally prefer Keyword planner. Its free keyword research tool by google that helps in analyzing these keyword matrix.

Content Writing

Relevant content is what google bots loves the most. As google focus is on delivering more relevant result to search term you must also focus on quality of content for your focus key phrase.

Thus content writing has became more important with SEO point of view. Focus on adding most relevant and natural content in such way that your article clears all aspects of your focus key phrase.

Note: Do not copy any content as google is smart enough to catch you and penalize your website. Include natural content of minimum 300 words.

On Page Optimization

On page optimization is the base for starting your SEO implementation. Here you have to optimize entire on page attributes as per SEO guidelines.

It includes optimizing

• Title tag – This let others know what your page is all about.
• Meta description – It describe your page in more detailed.
• Image optimization – Its good SEO practice to have well optimize images for your website.
• Keyword density – To avoid keyword stuffing your article must as keyword density as low as 1.5% – 2%.
• Internal links – Internal links are very important to your own pages as this lets google to crawl and index your entire website architecture.

Next steps comes is website submission where you submit you website to multiple search engines and directories. This allows them to include your websites within their records.

This step is starting phase for your off page SEO. While you submit your website to directories, bookmarking sites or classified listings. Remember to include websites only with high DA (domain authority).

Link Building

This is where off page SEO comes in picture. Link building is actually most important and lengthy process. When you analyse your competitors you get to know what type of links you must required in order to beat the top search results.

Link building must include relevant bancklinks to your articles from relevant articles. Links from high DA forums, press release, blogs are very effective ways of generating quality backlinks.

Note: Try getting as much as backlinks from domain with higher DA.

In order to monitor our progress we need to keep generating reports weekly and monthly basic. This is very important as we need to track current progress of our SEO implementation.

Again you can use search console a free tool by google that lets you keep track on your ranking and showcase your progress on daily, weekly or monthly basis. Here you need to add your work projects and you could actually see for which search queries your website is ranking, rank positions, total impressions, clicks and so on.

Search console is really great tool to track your progress and generate timely reports.
